One of the Largest LED Video Walls in Cyprus Museums Installed with Prestigio Solutions

On 5 September 2025, the Sea and Culture Museum in Polis Chrysochous officially opened its doors to the public. This was no ordinary opening: visitors stepping inside were welcomed by a breathtaking circular LED video wall measuring an impressive 60 m² – the largest of its kind installed in any Cypriot museum. This pioneering project was powered by Prestigio Solutions, setting a new standard for how technology and culture can merge to create an unforgettable visitor experience.

A Vision Brought to Life

The project was initiated by the Polis Chrysochous Municipality, which had a clear vision: to create a museum that does more than just preserve and display history by actively engaging people with it. Museums today face a growing challenge of keeping visitors engaged in an age dominated by interactive media and immersive experiences. The solution? Technology that amplifies storytelling while respecting cultural heritage.

That is precisely what Prestigio Solutions delivered by installing the seamless circular LED video wall. The video wall is not just a display; it is an immersive canvas where history, culture, and innovation converge.

The Power of Immersion

The 60 m² LED wall surrounds visitors with high-resolution visuals, dynamic video content, and interactive storytelling. Unlike traditional museum displays, where visitors look at artifacts and read descriptions, this installation places the audience at the very centre of the story.

The design encourages exploration, learning, and emotional connection by blending:

  • Spectacular imagery that makes history come alive
  • Dynamic videos that showcase cultural heritage in motion
  • Interactive displays that invite curiosity and personal discovery

For young visitors, it is engaging and full of fun. For adults, it is informative and visually stunning. For researchers and history enthusiasts, it is a modern tool for better understanding context and connections.

Beyond the Video Wall

While the LED video wall is the centrepiece, the project includes much more. Prestigio Solutions has also supplied:

Interactive Prime Series Panel (86”) – a powerful multitouch board that allows visitors to navigate exhibitions, explore timelines, and engage with museum materials in new ways.

Three indoor digital signage totems – strategically placed to guide, inform, and update visitors on museum highlights, schedules, and announcements.

Together, these solutions create a connected ecosystem of digital engagement, enhancing every step of the museum journey with technology.

A Collaborative Effort

Prestigio Solutions was responsible for:

Project design – ensuring the technology is aligned with the cultural vision

LED video wall installation – from sourcing to setup

Controller and configuration – fine-tuning the system for seamless performance

Content management system – powered by Displ software, allowing the museum to manage and update digital content with ease.

Special acknowledgment goes to ASBIS.CY, whose expertise in infrastructure assembly, installation coordination, wiring, and integration was pivotal to the project’s success. Their collaboration made sure that everything, from the physical setup to the digital fine-tuning, worked harmoniously.

Why Technology Matters for Museums

The Sea and Culture Museum is a perfect example of how cultural institutions are transforming. Museums are no longer silent spaces filled only with artifacts and plaques. Instead, they are becoming living, breathing spaces for experiencing history, art, and science in new ways.

Benefits of Technology in Museums:

Accessibility – Digital content makes information more approachable for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Engagement – Interactive displays turn passive observation into active participation.

Education – Dynamic storytelling is better than static exhibits at helping visitors retain information.

Preservation – Digitalization reduces wear and tear on physical artifacts while allowing broader access to knowledge.

Attraction – Innovative technology draws in new audiences, especially younger ones.

The Polis Chrysochous project embodies all these benefits, demonstrating how technology amplifies rather than overshadows culture.

A New Era for Cyprus Museums

The opening of the Sea and Culture Museum is more than a local milestone: it is a signal of where museum design in Cyprus is heading. With this installation, the museum sets a benchmark for immersive technology in cultural spaces. It paves the way for other institutions to rethink how they present their collections and interact with visitors.

Prestigio Solutions’ contribution is particularly significant in proving that advanced technology is not limited to large metropolitan museums. Even smaller towns like Polis Chrysochous can now offer world-class digital experiences, enriching both tourism and local community engagement.

What Visitors Can Expect
